Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Latest employee All Thumbs - I mean All Hands meeting was a dud

Beyond the usual mission moment and other stuff, it was pretty much dullsville. That's what happens when you get thoroughly beat down employees that have just given up.

No one wants to post anything to the slack Q&A any more, which is a bad sign. Along with the fact that any answer will be towing the corporate doublespeak, especially with RTO. Congrats Wayne, you've created a new Borg Collective that will be compliant, totally safe and risk free - and totally lacking on innovation and spark.

Lol don’t you just love when leaders try to act like they’re all “cool” by making a slack channel all about them (aka : classic narcissist move) and then direct their team to only talk in there to look like there’s engagement?!

I'm on the phone, but my mom worked in corp comm before she was laid off. Most of the first three or four questions asked are plants. They create them before the town hall so it looks like employees are engaged. I don't think it is being sneaky as the company she works at now does the same thing. I think it is just common practice. As much as I hate member contact, it is still better than being off of them and having a target on your back or always worrying about being laid off.
