Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

That's a clear message for long timers

I've been loyal to the company for years but it's extremely frustrating to see someone who just started working here, without nearly as much experience, getting paid almost the same as me.
It's not only an insult to those of us who have been here for a long time but it's perhaps the clearest sign that capable and knowledgeable long timers are not needed here anymore?

Corporate loyalty is dead. Try to look for another job you will be suprised how much more you can earn by simply willing to change jobs.

Guys,

The writing has been on the wall for a long time. CSC was a sweat shop long before services was tossed from the window by the orphanage and reincarnated into Frankenstein DXC...

I left DXC after M2 pulled the same playbook of M1 and the stake cutter...

They are betting on high cost country talent to leave. They don't want us around, they are monitoring this page, glassdoor and the other forums. The more frustration they see the more they laugh. Their ultimate goal, is 100% cheap shore, except the top brass. If you have more than a few years till retirement, find something better. The work is challenging, but you will pay your bills and have some to spare, instead of watching your life long years stolen by the basstRds..

Oh don't be such a baby, that's how it has been for 50 years I've been in IT. What is worst is that you never get a merit pay increase if meet for exceed your goals!

You’re lucky there are almost getting paid the same as you.

I found out they were on 80% higher than my salary…. And the best part…. Wait for it!!!

I have to train these people how to do their jobs. For 3 months a newbie I was with did one excel table format change (not the content) and proof read 10 slides for spelling and grammar.

Its just back to the Lawrie thing of "we don't need no stinking experts"

Experts are expensive, experts ask awkward questions, experts tell you to go f yourself with your stupid ideas....and anyone with X on their CV is just as good as anyone else at that product.

So actively looking to bin these expensive experts the cheapest way possible, particularly in the protected employment rights locations.

Best method - make them want to quit.

The d-mb thing with that is that the clients rather like having these experts that have delivered for them for years. They don't care much for paying for a service run by children and CV liars.

And there is a reason for that.
They want long timers to leave on their own.
"smoked out" is the phrase someone else on this forum had used to describe this.. and I think the person was spot on.
That way, they don't have to pay the long timers the severance package which could run into millions if they were to do it en-masse.
I am told that long timers are having no joy with VR applications , those are not being approved... and no pay rise or bonus either... so it is a double whammy.
I can't think of a better phrase that "smoke out" to describe the strategy.
