Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Low Performer - Golden parachute. High Performer - No Raise / Promo

When will rewards be back ?

For folks who are at Intel in roles where you can easily get a job outside, what is your motivation to stick around ?

Finding it harder and harder by the day to work as there are no rewards.

Would rather just suck so bad that they offer me a package.

What kind of system the company has right now ? Folks who are not performing are getting golden parachute to jump out, while folks who are performing well are not getting raises.

How long will this continue.

The current system provide no incentive to work more than 2 hrs per day.

Without promos the company is ignoring their most passionate and hard working people.

@3kgw, you clearly dont work at Intel any longer.

Threatening your manager that you are leaving is not working because manager has NO control anymore. Rewards policy is now ELT driven right now. And there are NO raises for anyone in the company right now. They are trying to cut, so no rewards.

But all of this is driving their high performers insane because there is nothing in it for them to keep working harder.

So we are in a downward spiral of productivity. You cant starve your high performers of rewards.

'Finding it harder and harder by the day to work as there are no rewards.'

Wow. Well the market sets the price for your labor. If you are is great as you think, then ask your boss for a raise and threaten to leave.

If you don't get the raise, you can take a hike and get another job. However, if you are over-estimating your worth then you put your income at risk.

The choice is yours, but for the love of god please stop complaining and take charge of your life. Good luck.

reward? ha ha ha ha... rewards are for great workers in companies that generate a profit...

if you are a great worker and want rewards go get a job somewhere else and stop whining.

You work at Intel under 'at will' employment contract. That means you can leave anytime you want. P.S. Don't let the door hit you in the a-s on the way out.

The secret is to not accumulate fat in the first place, not even in the name of minorities! Once you accumulate fat, it permeates into muscle and even protects other fat. When you wake up after 2 decades and try to cut out the fat, you will end up cutting more muscle than fat :)

Some other tech companies aren't giving raises this year, either. They claim the raises they gave in 2022 were excessive and so they are compensating by not giving raises in 2023. Microsoft is using this excuse while posting record profit and revenue.

I have been with graphics group since inception but my heart bleeds when boomrang employees from amd join us for a year or two and head back to amd. while Gents who have been with the firm long time (15+ years) barely grow. This has become a trend. we should SHIP THEM OFF. example k.a.m n.a.s,i.m check in linkedin - director and principal with 10 years experience. we are doing something wrong with our career choices.

They could've have easily cut the fat where needed without demoralizing the entire company. We've had a ton of good people leave already and it's only getting worse.
The brain drain from this will have serious consequences down the line.

Not that PG cares - Intel is paying him over $500,000 per day to run the company in to the sh$tter.

They are going to drive away all good employees. And it will sneak up on them.

After the split happens, the back scratching chain will be reset. You might see some improvement then. Right now, it's in overdrive.
