Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Quality of business

Allstate has many agencies that are run as boiler rooms. No surprise that they rarely have their applications checked for misrepresentation of drivers, retirees, prior coverage and for crying out loud who drives 1000 miles a year and slamming telematics down people’s throats. . Underwriting is a joke

Misrepresentation on apps is a known compliance issue. How else do you think agents get away with it

This op is fake and this post is garbage. If anyone posting in this tread has ever done a quote on allstate's platform that was migrated into use a couple years ago, the quote platform does NOT allow you to short rate mileage. You must click on the request mileage bu-ton and the information is populated from emissions. Second, The rate for mileage does not change from 8k -28k miles per year. if you need to short rate it can be done by request after the policy is bound but submitting documentation. Third, risk management does check, so this was some kind of agent bashing although what is the point.

Many of the agents I deal with don’t seem to understand anything about insurance. Way to go Allstate. Bringing in all the top notch talent I see.

This is the thing that bad unethical agents (most are good agents) don't understand. Yes, it may save the customer a few dollars misrepresenting them but it will eventually catch up. They will get undisclosed drivers added, policy terminated if they don't submit proof of prior insurance, as well as mileage from third parties will give allstate the right reading eventually. It is just insurance. People make it a lot more complicated than it has to be. Just be honest. If it costs too much go somewhere else.

My bet is that the OP is an agent who doesn’t write any new business. Let me guess- you are touting your great loss ratio and above average retention on your $750,000 book
