Thread regarding Gainwell Technologies layoffs

Something Odd...

Even if Gainwell is this bad place to work or has bad upper management?!¿

How is it that some employees have been here for over 15 years...
Why do they stay?
Does the toxicity of this company affect them as well? or No?
Are they impervious to the toxicity, layoff, threats, or overwork?
Something must be working for them what must it be???

Anyone? Anyone? Anyone?

It's possible to be part of a department or team that works together very well. I'm fortunate to have that, and I'm not inclined to just leave it and do the same thing somewhere else right now.

I've been here about a year and am happy. I think adaptability is key. I adapt as quickly and as best as I can to whatever the new directive is and wait for the next one. It won't last long until it changes. I just do what they say and collect my paycheck. I'm giving them a chance to figure it out and I contribute where I can. This happens with new projects and that's what we are in Ohio. I have seen positive changes. I see effort.

Waiting on my permanent residence. The moment the green card arrives, is the moment I put in my notice.

Simple.

They either don’t want to start over after being at Gainwell for so long.

Or they are used to daily chaos.

All companies aren’t a sh-t show like this.

We do our projects, limit our overtime, and we're wise enough to ignore or laugh about the rest. For me, it's been a steady stream of learning, challenges, and good teammates. I can't lose sleep over management. Life is too short.

Many of them are used to chaos, hard to get out of that mindset.

The EDS lineage has people that have been here much much longer...some over 40 years. Those people are obviously not keen to start over somewhere else.
