Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Work hard.

Unfortunately the real story is that you're working in order to give your Indian colleagues a pay rise and those other bunch of countries that have it written in law. The execs are lining their pockets despite performing poorly. It's an anorexic company, that has no regard for it's employees. On the positive side it has some great people working for it that continue to deliver for their customers because they are principled and enjoy what they do. Shame on Mike for starving goose.

UK apart from redundancy has probably the worst terms of any DXC Country.

Certain countries have employment laws that state companies must pay a pay increase in line with inflation.

What laws are you referencing here? I've never worked for DXC but I have worked with 'their' contract staff beginning when they were HP way back. Then they were first rate consultants as the company took care of their employees because they knew that without top rate people they'd never sell any products and services as well as keep contracts.

All I've witnessed over the years and changes is that the consultants are constantly worried about their jobs, benefits and positions. That's been a huge drag on the staff. Can't perform well if you're always worried about your jobs & the impact o your families. There's always been uncertainty in IT but the goal used to be to reduce that uncertainty and I'm not seeing that as a goal anymore. It's all about quarterly results and nobody can sustain the mental and physical beating that this shortsighted goal brings upon people.

Don't beat up on the people from other countries as I go back far enough to know how they were treated by companies around the world when they were 'visiting' IT staff.

Everyone's under pressure and undue hardship just to keep a job. It's double tough when you don't like the job and/or people you report to. Maybe those laws you refer to isn't such a bad thing in the current environment - I honestly don't know.

Good luck everyone.
