With the looming layoffs and general environment of this company, people I would once consider a friend are now starting to act real sketchy. People no longer want to help each other and are looking for reasons to "one up" each other or note their coworkers making a mistake. All this for 80k a year jobs smh. If I were you I would just keep your head down and do everything 1,000% by the book. I would also watch what info you write in slack even to "friends". Unfortunately, I think the backstabbing and snitching is only going to get worse from here.

There’s a KISS @$$ employee who wore an eagle costume in the peak of summer to show his “eagle spirit” in support of USAA. Execs love it and he earned some cool brownie points…his nose to this day still has stains. But he’s standing strong.
Your coworkers are not your friends. You can be cool with them, and maybe hit up social events now and again with them, but that should be it.
Act your wage. Do what is expected and log out. No more. No less
I literally just finished google searching how to deal with toxic people to help me deal with my narcissistic gaslighting boss. https://www.boundaries.me/10-strategies-for-dealing-with-toxic-people?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=DHC_ToxicPeople_06_23_LEAD&utm_content=toxic+people&fbclid=IwAR2pTbnHoMz6ughX5Zx-6wVw3VVXOC4eTf-7Mvz5KPnlL7_dijgwHBbzGPs_aem_th_AVKxYL97zYHYxx6peNp5jABGYioNrunX3fr8m4V1iNXpotZMOn9no3M0g4ni5Y3KBoGDoSobgmdjrcQ5fkwzOU73
The worst people at USAA are the failed Wells Fargo executives that were dredged up to replace good honest members of the EMG. These crooks from Wells Fargo should be in jail for fraud.
I worked with the worst people ever at USAA. Nice to your face and stab you in the back at the slightest thing. Executives openly mock internal audit, risk and compliance at every turn. While smiling and agreeing in meetings.
I wouldnt know, there was maybe three employees in my section of the office today……
I would not be surprised to see a class action years down the line. It probably wouldn't amount to much for the workers as the lawyers will eat most of the settlement.
I wonder if, once all of this is revealed, we can take action against USAA? I think the skunks in the workplace may be encouraged by management. And management is stuck with what they have encouraged. But also, broken employment promises (in writing). Drying up the work so certain employees look bad. I am sure this has been done before. What happened in those cases? How to find out he numbers, and who to hire to take action against this toxic employer? I have worked at other companies, but USAA is the worst. The betrayal is profound.
It's definitely changing working dynamics. But it also reminds you that your coworkers aren't always your friends.
Definitely taking that lesson to my next job. So sick of the toxic positivity being pushed at us.
Yep, happened to me, also. Rest assured that what went down will come around. The place is toxic!
Ya its super gnarly and un legit out there
Do your work and go home. Do your work and go home. Do your work and go home
Yep - my coworkers have forced me to take a mental health break for now. It's gotten SO TOXIC I can't do this anymore. It literally happened to me last week. I'm being absolutely gas lighted right now and I'm over it. My mental health can't take it.
