Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Employee from competitor

Verizon employee here. My goodness…just saw the news on the hub locations. What one carrier does, others are sure to follow. I am a WFH employee and we have no office in my state any more; I fear the same craziness will come our way too with having to report to certain offices. Thinking about you all. At the end of the day, we’re all just people trying to earn a living. Why do companies have to do such crazy things that impact their people?

We have an intern on our team now. I think he is getting a CLEAR message to stay the F away from a Company like AT&T. I hope he tells all his peers as well.

Upper level management, VP and above are all having parties in Dallas 24/7...if VzB isn't doing nonsense you probably have nothing to worry about.

Oh my ... if the folks running Verizon start taking hints from T, you are in for a really hard crash landing.

But then again, I very seriously doubt that any other CEO (with the exception of Elon at Twitter) are as evil, arrogant, or can do as much sustained and consistent damage to an established company as Stink has. So you're very likely free of suffering from this alarming level of incompetence and malice.

Verizon's balance sheet is in better shape to weather the higher interest rates. AT&T is going the way of Silicon Valley Bank.

It wouldn't surprise me at all to see Verizon follow the same path as ATT. I'm not sure it will be as drastic as what's happening here though. A few bad decisions outside of our core market challenges have had such a huge impact. This boat is taking so much water. With efforts to hide the true reality of the situation, first your customers start to get screwed over, then the employees, then the shareholders start to feel the pain. The cycle continues to repeat as a result. I'm not sure where this all ends, nor what this company looks like going forward. It's going to get ugly for everyone involved, including customers, employees, and shareholders. So sad.
