Well it looks as though we are going to have more layoffs on the horizon for Springtown. All the talk, and it seems to have been confirmed is that odonnels boss said we have to cut back to 70 per shift. I don't know if it isall MS or MS plus the Solos people or what. UMs have spoke to staff mentioning this number. This of course would be on top of the current RIF.

we know they're addressing an long overdue infrastructure resizing, and rather than trim the underworked VPs and Directors, they will cut the talent and people that matter
With tools being mothballed and some being moved to NRM and added with the layoffs of over 200 operators, the next stage will be Equipment & Process technicians redundancies. They won't be all needed as less tools to fix.
No worries the hundreds or thousands of VP’s and Directors will be able to fill the void if sales ever come back. Add in zero report managers and everything is going to be just fine. Nope probably not, Honey have you seen our Bug Out Bags?
There is a plan to close it that got delayed a bit when the company ran out of cash.
Fugg. Ask for volunteers stateside! Made the mistake of not volunteering last round. Tired of the hot mess that remains. This new leadership has the habit of engineering by decree. Resume is in circulation and setting up interviews. I’ll probably have resigned and be at another company before the next state side round. Good luck Seagators.
Its not even how many operators can they lose, there are more than enough managers, directors in there and god knows how many unknowns doing god knows what, if they really want these big money savings they need to hit more than just for redundancies and start looking above. The way this has all being handled is starting to seem like some sort of bundled union busting excercise.
I heard 270 of ~1400 volunteered for layoff and Seagate is going to honor the requests. That is roughly ~19% across all positions at Springtown.
I heard something similar this week. How many more operators can we lose?
