Thread regarding USAA layoffs

No confidence in Wayne

I’m no fan of Wayne and hearing how he ran P&C, I was shocked when he was announced as the CEO in waiting back in Dec 2019. But, the issues with the OCC, that was years in the making and hit before he took the helm in Feb 2020. Unfortunately for him, the S really hit the fan under his watch, hiring failed executives from WF, breaking the promise of RTO and then lying saying it’s to improve the culture! Then when asked about improving employee morale, he is doubling down on RTO saying by bringing everyone together that will fox morale!?! Wayne just needs to accept the loss on RTO, not double down on it. And why the F_CK are we having holiday parties when we just lost $1billion in 2022 and $13billion of our overall net worth! Topples with laying over near 1200 FTE since January and more layoffs still to come before years end, Xmas parties are the last things we need!

The simple reality is that USAA is not independent, and does not control its own culture or strategy. Despite not being publicly traded, for high level decisions like RTO, corporate culture, employee morale, ESG, etc. USAA is more or less a franchise of b-r as b-r is the asset manager for most of USAA's billions of dollars.

Hybrid is 2-3 days in the office NOT 4..geeze you think millionaires would know the difference? Also, Covid should have taught that a company can do their work and be accountable at home. The 60 miles from campus is ridiculous crack of sh-t. Should be max 30 miles or same damn city. Everyday employees are putting their lives in danger commuting more than a few hours living outside the city. I don’t care if someone says it’s your fault for living further away. I’ll say time and time again. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. I agree NO more holiday parties, the amount of money that goes into that should be divided amongst employees. I highly doubt that would happen due to being able to write off for taxes, “giving back”. I say we all don’t show up. That’ll send a message. Lastly can’t believe the amount of kiss as--s that want to be the “yes man”.
