Not sure the exact date, but the selected people are locked in. If you’re going to do anything, do it now… you have less than 1 month.

Under Ulf whats been impacted?
Layoffs just hit today 8/24/2023, Dir, Manager and IC. Under Nestor
very quiet at the region
Need to get rid of Sr. Directors and Sr. Managers. Honestly, they aren’t needed.
Tmobile is indeed doing more layoffs. Consumer Markets/Omni channel operations big cuts, managers and leaders as well as ICs. Not a rumor, tenure is not a factor, role/responsibility duplicate work, salary and age, yes, age are the factors. The next couple months will be challenging.
Hello everyone, this is the ATT HR team. Kindly resubmit your resumes, please.
"If you're going to do anything do it now".
ROTFLMAO. The lists are made. It'll take HR at least 3 weeks to get all the layoff documentation reviewed/processed/approved. If you're on the list, you're on the list.
Dead man walking.
Confirmed. I walked past a conference room and they had a slide on the monitor showing reductions start in sept. Nothing shown as far as numbers, but the slide did give a timeframe
The plan is follow sprint lean model by outsourcing NOC and field.
Yeah, and the Sprint lean model leaned them into oblivion. T-Mobile has been successful and able to control costs by keeping development and operations in house. Now a bunch of ID10Ts from Sprint come in and say "let's do what failed us before".
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing that fails over and over and expecting a different result.
he'd really do a massive round of layoffs before the Apple 15 goes on sale? that stresses the system like no other event.
- Tons of demotions of leaders to IC, if you don’t have a 6:1 ratio, you’re demoted or fired.
I know tech middle management who have 12 - 20 IC's. So do they promote managers or get rid of the "extra" 6-14 people?
It is not just Ulf. The plan is follow sprint lean model by outsourcing NOC and field. They will terminate the tools teams too. Lohes org will be mostly eliminated.
Confirmed the list has been submitted.. cuts will happen all through September. At the very latest first week of October. Technology going to see lots of IC roles get cut.. limited ICs means cuts in front line managers as well.. the good old days are gone… new model is DO MORE WITH LESS!
If you aren’t a strong player in your team and have received poor performance reviews in the recent past.. take this as a warning, and go look for a new job today!
Unfortunately speaking you are most likely on that list.. sorry to say..
There is nothing to do but just update your resume and wait for a severence. You will still be an employee on the books for two months after.
If you’re going to blow smoke, do it with more detail.. all this rumored level bullsh-t needs to either drop, or let’s be completely honest with who is going and which markets.. stop fu----g with people that have been with the company for decades
Sit tight, guys! Bonuses are coming. Love it, so excited!
Confirmed. I heard the same timeframe.
Huge cuts.
Massive restructure.
“Areas” reintroduced to markets to eliminate more people.
Tons of demotions of leaders to IC, if you don’t have a 6:1 ratio, you’re demoted or fired.
Premerger headcount target numbers, or lower.
More layoffs in early 2024 after EOY goals completed (jerk move)
If you aren’t cut, we should do something so Ulf knows we aren’t going to take this constant layoff fear anymore. RISE UP AND SAY SOMETHING.
Avoid the decimal rounding error! Ooooh face!
Region level restructuring coming a a week before that. So, end of August to be exact. Source: one of the upper echelon execs.
There has been major reorganization for HQ Technology teams under Ulf this week. If you scrutinize closely, it is like gathering the herd for sla-ghterhouse. Better be prepared and take whatever your VP/director's announcement of positive change for the organization as bullsh-t.
Any criteria for who gets the ax? What orgs?
So in order not to get laid off, you suggest fraud? Wow, what an a-whole
Unless the role is completely eliminated, go on FMLA for a week, then come back and you’re protected for 90-180 days. Not sure why most people don’t do that more often and get around layoffs.
