Area model in technology

Does anyone have any further details about the area model SLT has been working on in the technology dept?? There is constant chatter about it but no details disclosed.. the lack of information and all the constant chatter of impending doom, has driven moral in operations down to a level i haven’t seen in a very very long time.. everyone is literally just waiting for the bandaid to be violently ripped off.. anyone have any details??

Can we all come to an agreement if in fact reductions don’t occur end of august and early September. That we can all stop this nonsense blog and comments which only lead to stressing people out in the long run..

In T-Mobile's domain, a tragic tale unfolds,
A once thriving empire, now tarnished and cold.
New leaders emerged, blind to the hearts they broke,
And the company's essence, they callously choked.

Layoffs became the norm, a constant sword of fear,
Hopes shattered, dreams crushed, as they shed no tear.
Morale sank to depths, like a shipwrecked soul,
In this dismal abyss, they felt no control.

People trapped in misery, disdain in every breath,
Hatred for their workplace, an eternal death.
Toxicity consumed, like poison in their veins,
As joy and passion withered, lost in chains.

Oh, T-Mobile's downfall, a lamentable sight,
Once revered, now despised, by the fading light.
A cautionary tale of leaders gone astray,
Of how greed and callousness led them to decay.

Well, we've been hearin' that 'round about the week of the 28th - might be Wednesday - or maybe even the first week of September, there'll be some layoffs comin' round. And it ain't just local; it's regional and national. It's gonna hit the higher-ups, them senior managers, and the folks who keep everything running - technicians and engineers.

Markets that are operating under that there area model, they're already feelin' the heat. The loudest market set the pace, and now the smaller ones have been put in their place. Motivation's about as scarce as hen's teeth. Don't feel like liftin' a finger for this company no more, I tell ya. The whole atmosphere's gone bad, like a barrel of apples with a bad one in the bunch.

Every Tom, Di-k, and Harry's scrambling, trying to prove they're worth their salt and should keep their jobs. Me? I'm just sittin' tight, waitin' for that package, maybe even take me a good long break - a sabbatical, if you will. Ha! Good luck to us all, we sure as he-l gonna need it

While on that 20% reduction call that someone is stating on here… was there a timeline to go along with that?? I’m thinking trimming 20% in one shot is a receipt for disaster on the operations and engineering front.. seems like a long term goal.. does anyone have details on that??

Don't worry, they don't have much of an idea of what they're talking about either

In central region it has been already implemented. We lost our switch and now one supports the switch equipment and the rest are support of either the Great Lakes area or the Appalachian area( both form the central region) on the RF side engineers were pulled from the market and called area engineers supporting design and other market tasks. Whoever is left is doing performance only for the most part.

We did it before at T-Mobile. Example all the Florida markets (Jax, tpa, orl, Miami) would be called “Florida” and there would be an area Director over them all. “Deep South” was Mobile, New Orleans, Atlanta, Memphis. The Texas area would be all markets in TX minus El Paso cuz that’s West.

It’s another management and operational layer between the region and market.

With the coming layoffs in Sept/Oct, which will be very heavy in Ulf’s tech org, there will likely be consolidated across the areas and region. Example, bye bye switch and field techs. Hello Ericsson outsource (Ulf came from there).

Ph--k Ulf that Sloth Goonies lookin mfer
