Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

HR has fallen off a cliff

The absolute worst HR ever. It keeps getting worse. They can’t even do the basics without screwing something up!

It’s really a shame as AIG used to have a truly amazing, world-class HR team. What a difference 5 years makes.

HR Shared Services is a joke!!!! They recently boasted about new and improved look and access. You'll get an immediate acknowledgement and that's where it ends. I recently made several inquiries and received only partial answers. They were quick to send out another email stating the matter was resolved. When I made a follow up inquiry, I was told again that the matter was resolved. Unacceptable!! Thanks for nothing to P.Z. and his overpaid cronies.

Considering that :

  1. most HR talent & top performers ran for the hills over the past few years and were not replaced at all or were replaced with lesser talent or inept, inexperienced underlings
  2. the current CHRO has literally no HR experience and no vision for the HR function, just a”yes” person who will drive the continued ransacking, pirating of AIG. And continue to layoff, outsource, sell-off without remorse
  3. critical HR functions were hastily offshored to Accenture, to an incompetent group of high turnover, non-English speaking, non-HR individuals (albeit well intentioned and nice - I.e. not their fault, don’t take it out on them)

…HR is just about where you’d expect it to be. Well done, AIG -well done.

lol. HR has joined the chat.

It’s true. The outsourced service team is incompetent and every other frontline employee is having to pick up their slack. Don’t believe me? Check out the turnover in sales.

I know it’s a work in progress and hopefully it will get sorted sooner rather than later. I just wish there was better communication. The poor separation execution makes me nervous for the future of the company.

With their current focus on ERGs and return to office, HR leadership is clearly not taking into account employee sentiment. They certainly are not considering the associated costs of RTO compared with our sub-industry-standard compensation.

I have faith in the new head of HR, but he was given a complete pile of excr-ment to work with. It’s doubtful that he’ll be able to form it into something beautiful, but I trust that he will make improvements where possible.

The whole thing has been a cr-p show, Most of the new overseas agents can barely speak English or compete any other task. But the pay is low so that’s who they chose.

The last poster is clearly a sad, prejudiced person who has anger about having to compete with the entire world. 50 years ago, they would have had to compete with a much smaller portion, back when all the isms were keeping out many qualified people.

No deflection needed with HR. Here’s a brief listing:

  1. They can’t explain anything.
  2. They don’t understand how business works.
  3. Many of the staff are obviously hired for DEI, not brains.

Agreed. HR is terrible. If you think they are bad now, wait until you try to retire. Total incompetency!

LOL at this. Someone is trying to hide their own faults by deflecting to HR.

I totally agree. They could not solve any of the problem. I moved over from CRBG to AIG and till today the badge would not work.
