Thread regarding USAA layoffs

USAA is Stolen Valor

Thats how I now describe our once great association. USAA is STOLEN VALOR. Don't get me wrong - there are amazing people here. Currently serving military, veterans, and especially the spouses, but most of the company does not know what it means to serve. They DO however, know what it means to play the hearts and minds with their employees. The mission moments, the fake military marketing photo/video shoots, the "mission" and the "service". USAA is a FOR PROFIT bank and insurance company. They USE people for their mission moments, real stories, to get employees to relate to "service". You're not serving, you're being used, FOR PROFIT. Its military appropriation and complete lies. STOLEN VALOR and USAA should be ASHAMED.

USAA has never claimed to be nonprofit. I’m sure the bank was looking to make money the moment it open 40 years ago. When you call another bank and tell them your PCSing or going on TDY do they even know what that means? I’m not saying that USAA is everything to everybody but every company is at a point and had points where their Service suffers always.
USAA, a few years ago had a 32% hiring rate for veterans and military spouses. It is those peoples job to share that military life data, that doesn’t happen, not like it should at least in my opinion. Military vets always think it should be run a specific way, not in the civilian world. No company is perfect and USAA is right there but there is nobody that does in my opinion military service better and if there is you need to think about that and take action accordingly.

Our "leaders" think by visiting a military base for a dog and pony show while playing with some gear and learning military accumen, that they now know what it means to serve. They come back with a "great appreciation" and a new fire inside to dedicate themselves to service of our members. It's now their duty. Except, we all know it's complete BULLSH-T. They are dishonorable sc-m.

That's exactly how I feel. They are profiting off service members pretending to have empathy towards them and then giving them sh---y service on their products! Im a veteran and I just hated seeing the culture die. USAA is just like any other financial services company that wants your money

As a Veteran I agree! I worked at USAA for 6 years and the civilians (ppl never served) swore they knew what it meant to serve. No you don’t! It’s like they thought they were in the military cause they worked at USAA 🤣

Stolen valor is right. Especially with the Regulators. Wayne and the EC are using the Members to ask for less fines and to get out of the Consent Order early, even though things are not fixed. “Oh, pay no attention Mr. Daryl OCC, Sir, to the lack of adequate systems, planning, training, or tools; look only at the honor and sacrifice of our customers. We’re just like they are even though none of us have actually served. Also don’t look at how we are spending their money on ourselves and our friends!”

Not a single one in leadership could be a Member without their job here. They DON’T know what it means to serve but they DO know how to exploit it to their advantage. Makes me sick.

It’s disingenuous to use diversity, equity, and inclusion rather than the continuing degradation of USAA’s products and customer service to make a case of betrayal to USAA’s membership. You may disagree with the former but reams of complaints on consumer feedback boards and employee feedback on this site clearly get to the root of the company’s fall from grace.
