It is clear that the leadership is doing everything to keep the layoffs away from the public eye, and that they actually may be succeeding in this. However, does this also help to keep the reputation of this place intact? My opinion is no, because it's already been largely destroyed.

Are you glad you were rehired? If you could go back and do it again would you still be at Optum?
I was part of the 2019 RIFs but was rehired before the end of my severance in a new role. This has been happening for Many years prior to that and will continue to happen. Good luck to you in finding a new position outside or in another department, if you wish.
