It’s not supposed to be like this, right? We aren’t supposed to sit and watch while the Wayne and his corrupt EC systematically dismantle all the safeguards that are there to keep them from stealing the Members’ money, are we? We are told to raise concerns with our managers, and I did that. She told me I don’t know anything, that I’m not seeing what I am seeing. I escalated to the VP and SVP, who dithered and wrung hands, but nothing changed. Eventually I was told, “it’s all in your (my) head.” I went to the EVP, who said, “go talk to your manager” and then all of a sudden I got a “Partially Meets” and was told to be more of a team player. I did Facilitated Dialogue; more dithering. I complained to Ethics…complete silence. I complained to HR of Retaliation, and was told by a friend who works there, “we NEVER substantiate retaliation claims, even if there is any. You signed your own death warrant by doing Facilitated Dialogue. Better pack your bags.”

Ooooo! Let’s ask Tamla the stats on retaliation! I’m sure we’ll get an honest answer!
Have any claims of retaliation EVER been substantiated? Asking for a friend…10
Borrowing this from another thread (the one about USAA cooking the books):
Ask yourself, “if I were a millionaire executive at a private bank/insurance company, and I wanted to be a billionaire retired executive, how would I go about doing that?” Your answer would probably be some version of:
- Getting rid of anyone with a backbone and morals;
- Surrounding yourself with people too weak, too stupid, or too corrupt to say anything;
- Removing oversight and destroying controls, either through eliminating staff, refusing to allow backfills for attrition, and/or withholding financial support for system upgrades; and then
- Engaging in corruption, like insider trading, price fixing, getting kickbacks and/or any other kind of behavior that is immoral/illegal/improper but profitable if you can get people to look the other way while you do it.
When I visited the home office I noticed trees planted around the building were dying. Plant expensive trees, don't take care of them, watch them die a sad and ugly death. Today's metaphor brought to you by just another disenfranchised remote employee hired in 2020
Bro. You’re so fired. Every manager, director, VP, and executives in that building is there to cover Wayne’s a-s. Some do it for the money, others to ensure opportunity for promotion, and some just to make sure they keep their job. Either way. None of them give two sh--s what you think. Honestly, integrity, loyalty, and service is nothing but a bullsh-t marketing tag line now. Ethics and HR are there to protect the business and to the business, you’re a replaceable asset. Props for doing the right thing, but in an unethical, backwards, crooked business like USAA has become, you are now a liability. You’ll be gone very soon but don’t worry you’ll be in a better place.
An HR friend once told me less than 5% of Dialogues are actually won. He hated letting people on like they had a fighting chance. Think about it. What EMG is going to contradict what one of their direct reports decided? Huge waste of time.

OP here. I guess these days Speak Up doesn’t matter any more than the Mission does…
Really sad that you’re going thru this. Mission doesn't matter any more. Its all business !
We are just another headcount in the books and will get cut if management thinks you are no longer needed. Irrespective of two decades of service and past achievements.
There is no such thing called "loyalty"
Call in the shrink from the prior post. This is a pre example of how distrust is created in the workplace!
I’m sorry you’re going through this. I heard before that Facilitated Dialogue makes things worse. I was going to do it but a friend who has been EMG with USAA for almost 10 years told me he’s never seen anyone do it and there be any change to the rating. He said it was the quickest way to get fired.
go to the press!!
