Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Finally switched my insurance. USAA is no longer getting a dime from me and never will as long as Wayne is in charge.

I've been shopping around for insurance for a while and was struggling to find a company that could beat USAA's rates for equivalent coverage.

If you're in the same boat, I'd recommend calling a local agent. They can walk you through what you actually need, what coverage might be excessive, etc. Turns out I was paying a lot for some coverage on my auto policy that wasn't necessary because my health insurance would cover it.

I was able to save a huge amount (>30%) by switching my auto insurance for basically identical coverage. Not just that, I ended up getting more coverage on my homeowners insurance for the same price.

I switched my banking a while ago, so with my insurance finally switched, that officially ends my business relationship with USAA. I'll keep my credit card open because closing it would lower my score, but beyond that, my business relationship with USAA has come to an end.

USAA insurance su-ks a giant sch-long. The service is on par with Comcast and if you have a claim, the claims experience will raise your blood pressure and make your head explode with the non-stop fu-kery they pull at every given opportunity. At this point P&C is completely unrecognizable from the company people used to thank and celebrate. I wouldn’t insure with USAA even if they were giving policies away. Just like the bank, I’m sure the failures hired by Joe, Stuart, and Wayne are completely dismantling everything that made P&C special while they line their pockets with self appointed giant paychecks and bonuses.

Member-centric and member owned… we are going to take rate from you and give EC a raise… we know what it means to serve… altruism and capitalism collide

I switched my insurance recently. I got essentially identical coverage for about the same price, but it was worth it for me. It wasn't just about finding better rates/saving money. It was voting with my wallet. I'd honestly be fine with paying slightly more if it meant fewer of my dollars went to Wayne's USAA.

Am I willing to come back to USAA? Absolutely, but it would require a complete regime change. I think at its heart, USAA is still a "good" company, but right now it is infested with vermin at the top. Wayne, Amala, Tamla, and most of Wayne's direct reports need to go before USAA gets another dollar from me.

If you’re a long time member, it’s not a bad idea to cancel all of your P&C products so you can get your SSA balance cashed out. Then wait a year and come back if you want. Was a 30 year member and canceled after I had enough of the BS. Nice chunk of change!

It’s not even just members leaving USAA… there are many shops that are refusing to take in USAA vehicles because USAA is behind on paying many of the shops. One shop was thinking USAA must be going out of business. The brand is not doing well…

Thanks for the info, I’ve been a member for a number of years but after working for USAA for two years, left last year because the mismanagement made me physically ill. There is absolutely no way I would do any business with the bank.

But was shopping insurance USAA is offering the best rates in Texas and I was hoping P&C was different.

Have you notches USAA tends to market over covering you as if its to your benefit! Its only to your benefit when its a total loss, otherwise if you have hail damage (quite common) you will have to pay that percentage based on the higher coverage that they disguised to you as a benefit!

If someone started an insurance company and catered to the military and paid same or more than USAA they could get so much talent quickly and probably destroy them in the marketplace.
