Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Which CoSA has been the best area to work in at the company?

Enterprise is a nightmare. Thinking of internally switching, but the other cosas also seem off. I just can’t take the workload and politics in Enterprise anymore; they promote the least, and I’ve seen coworkers with the same amount of experience and education getting promoted more in Bank than I have in Enterprise. Not to mention, easily the most tone-deaf and inefficient EMG in Enterprise, but my interactions with Bank EMG and staff are so different and positive.

But not sure if the Bank is the right place to go to with the layoffs/no good products.

Thoughts?

Don’t go to the Bank it’s a sh— show and horrible working environment. The id--ts they brought in from external banks don’t know cr-p and it’s all falling apart. We have to pick up the pieces from the last RIF and it’s just crazy.

Go to LifeCo. P&C is a sinking ship and Mod is a money pit that will drain any hope of breaking even much less profit.

CFO was the best place I’ve worked, but they are very frugal so negotiate a big raise going in because they don’t give much in pay raises. The management there was reasonable.

GSP QM and Risk control was terrible. It is not the people doing the work, but the director and leads who are so unethical. Never trust anything they say. The Director never had any direct employee management experience and lied his way through the interview process. This is the kind of leadership that needs to be removed.

ECIO is worst. Basically switching the chairs on Titanic is not going to help

I've enjoyed working in the CFO. Still do. it's the rest of the company that is driving me batty.

The Bank is the worst. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy :(

A view from someone sitting in the Enterprise. LifeCo looks like the best place. The bank is by far the worst. The GMs running products have no legitimate experience managing a balance sheet. They spend more time deflecting why something is not a problem than actually fixing the problem. There is no accountability. The culture of the bank is toxic and a stain on USAA's reputation.

IT. Despite how hard they think they work. And how smart they think they are. And how much pressure they think they have, it is high pay, more travel than the rest of the COSAs, least pressure. But you do have to work with prima Donna’s like architects and fellows.

Anywhere that isn't Bank or Bank Compliance (i.e. enterprise, risk, etc). The insurance arm still seems to operate somewhat like the original USAA its these bank pricks from the large institutions that are screwing everyone as they always do.

Speaking from someone who has been with the Bank for 3 years, Bank would be the last CoSA that I’d go to. I would love to go to Life or P&C but I’m 100% remote and not near a site so my chances of moving there are slim to none.
