I've been laid of 2x in my life. You should never think it won't happen to you. Once mergers start happening and they start bringing in people from the old company to double up on responsibilities, security is over.
Next they'll lay off who you least expect and in 6 months or so down the road, they'll change job titles, lower pay and hire people on to do the same job as those laid off.
Are lay offs continuing today??? Friend got a sudden meeting on her calendar from a leader titled “discussion”
This is totally around and caused by cost and financial headwinds brought on by the CMS final notice on the ICD10 codes that were changed. The enterprise had to make business decisions to align G&A costs to lower forecasted revenue due to the administration's changes to reimbursement codes. My area had to develop the business case for the Optum part of this. It stinks so many have to be let go due to this.
I was laid off today too. I was part of E&I- underwriting.
I got laid off today. I was in a CAP & started to turn things around & then this. I was on the UMR development team.
