Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Forced RTO

Is it just me or does this all feel stupid? Sitting in dangerous traffic, wasting gas, looking for parking, to log into zoom while in crowded super loud office spaces constantly being distracted by nonsense. Meanwhile those allowed to work remote dont have to worry about meeting a weekly RTO bottom in the seat quota. Collaboration and being in person is so important yet the tech spot has become remote. How un innovative and unprofessional has USAA become? Last time i checked, i was also salary, now you want to tell me how many hours to spend in office? First, you should pay me for added expense the forced RTO has placed on me that the privileged remote workers don’t have to worry about! They can say “well it was like that before covid”, yeah we also had retirement plus and bigger bonuses before covid as well! Isnt USAA supposed to be a leader? They should start hiring inmates, since thats how they treat degreed employees now. I’m so over invested in this company! Time to pull my britches up and find something else.

It hasn’t been innovation since opening the bank. At the peak there was a $50 million innovation bucket. Fidelity and B of A had $1 billion innovation programs.

I'm Laughing at the comment about the amenities.

Do you think those things can compensate for being overworked and having no work life balance because we got to commute in to sit on a zoom call that we could have done at home?

@1umt+1nMRolsd - Wayne? That you?

Wayne and everyone one of his Bank of America/Wells Fargo are giant, soulless, greedy douche bags. I’m rolling out so I can watch from the sidelines as this sh-t show parading as a leadership team drive the boat right into the iceberg. Talent is walking out or being laid off, and soon the entire building will be full of low talent a-s kissers who cluelessly follow Wayne into the sh-t hole is is digging.

You realize that most people are just sticking it out for the Christmas bonus, then will start applying elsewhere right after, and I guarantee you, come March-June 2024, there will be a huge exodus of employees leaving, especially with this 4 days in office starting in January.

I left in April for Randolph Brooks FCU, same job (compliance), increased salary, less stress and 2 days hybrid. Unlike USAA, I live 5minutes from the RBFCU campus, compared to 40mins to USAA.

... outside of the coffee, the amenities are on par with other large campuses, especially the larger offices.

Still not worth the decrease in pay for RTO. I was hired as remote, so looking for other roles, but have to contend with the ridiculous workload, which is getting hard to manage since I also have to mentor younger individuals who have no motivation.

Us that are permanently remote are like fish in a barrel, just waiting for our number to be called.

If you were so sure of yourself finding another remote job you would have done that by now and you wouldn’t be bit*hing on this site constantly about having to go back into the office.

What, you don’t have enough food options or coffee options at another company? Or someone who rides around on a bike delivering coffee? Or multiple gyms with fitness classes? The list goes on…go work for another company and realize that not all of them have the amenities USAA has.

I would do anything or be forced back into the office instead of being stuck in my current role. Remote people are basically screwed. We potentially have to leave unvested money on the table to go somewhere to expand our careers. Cry me a river that you have to go back into an office for a job you were hired to be in the office. I do have sympathy for the remote hired workers that are forced into an office but not for someone hired to work in the office. It su-ks for you but you accepted the role. You got a taste for something you prefer but lost it. Go look for something that meets your needs. I was promised so much when hired including retirement plus that was pulled a month later. I now have no future here. I gave up 15 years of service at another company. Sh-t, I was not even looking for a job. USAA recruiters hunted me down to come here with promises my location will never impact me.

This is a result of the CEO pocketing the money

Remote employees are now in dead end jobs and now catfished employees who have to come in 4 days a week are looking for better jobs

Good. I hope the degenerate executive leadership at USAA takes all these "clever" sh!tbags that moved during COVID and £ucks them right in the @ss. I'll be busy enjoying my new remote position at a different company.

Toodles!

remote employees don’t get advancement/promotions/are almost surely going to be laid off first since the company wants to remove remote work entirely.

For regional offices, talent is running away for companies that pay higher with more flexibility. Same with the other hubs.
