In the last layoffs, noticed that people who were openly critiquing RTO and other decisions were laid off.

I was one of those that provided healthy challenge with candor and was laid off. My last day was July 14th and I am so glad that I am out of that toxic environment! The grass is greener on the other side. As a prior military leader all those leaders in the C-suite are clueless as to what it means to serve since none of them ever served. USAA will continue going downhill until there is a change at the top and you have military representation in key leadership position.
So glad I got a fat severance and a new job.
Healthy challenge is a joke.
Oh he-l yes, and fyi, it always has…
Is it time to speak out? Please advise, will do to get laid off. 😂
Fu----g communist like company
Do you need Bob Davis to come back and draw a picture of a rowboat? There are people rowing in the right direction, and the rest go out of the boat. Right in time for Joe Robles’ alligator chart.
I spoke out and I hope they lay me off soon so I can laugh my @ss off all the way to the non-USAA bank.
Just pathetic I noticed a few people who commented a lot on the Post no longer do. I can’t remember their names to see if they are still here 😢
No but it does lead to targeted firing!
Thank you, Corporate Communications, for reminding the little people they need to know their place! For reminding everyone not in EMG to shut the fu-k up about anything that might be off, and to never ever question whether there might be a better way to do things. Without you, how would we ever remember that our opinions don’t matter? That WE don’t matter?
The people who’ve complained on post or challenged public ally via Slack have been laid off. They were quite respectful about why they disagreed with RTO and some of the other decisions; and they were quietly laid off after decades at the company
Openly critiquing leadership is definitely going to put you at risk. This would be the case at any employer I’ve ever worked for.
Speaking Up is absolutely the first step to being hustled out the door, but probably they’ll do a few things first to discredit you, like poor evaluation ratings. Next you’ll be accused of not being a team player, because you didn’t use enough exclamation points in an email and that made the person who got the email feel sad. Then, you’ll be accused of being insubordinate because you asked a question, or your face wasn’t “appropriately enthusiastic” about some ridiculous idea of theirs. Then a PIP. Then, after you’ve continued to Speak Up only to have HR and Ethics and the rest of your leadership fail you each and every time, you will beg for a layoff. And they will fire you instead.
