I'd trade being PIPed for a layoff with severance without thinking.

Essentially 8 months of severance pay to leave this job and company? This is an excellent opportunity for all of you who won the lottery. You are all very employable and will parlay your experience at Capital One into a better job, a new life. You have 8 months to take your time and be selective AND spend a little more time with your family. As others have stated, I have seen so many incredibly talented people redeployed, pip'd. Forget about the why, accept it and be very positive about your future. You were just done a huge favor. Sometimes it just takes a kick in the pants to get us to make a change.
Is 20weeks severance on top of 60 days? Is this true ?
I’d like to thank god, my mom, and the executive who opted for the Other package with 20 weeks. On to the next adventure!
