Our leadership is watching autocratic countries closely and learning the wrong lessons from them.
We are not "spoiled" by mutual respect, convenience, and efficiency, much less freedom and professional autonomy.
It's depressing, maybe alarming, to see the incipient fascism oozing out of our neighbors and coworkers whenever freedoms and privileges are arbitrarily rolled back.
The Patriots had to deal with loyalists and royalists. Different day, same fascists.
