I don't know who the poor id--ts are who would join a company that is having layoffs at the exact moment of their hiring, but I would see it as a major reason to stay as far away as I can from it. I guess it says a lot about the next generation of Oracle employees...

Yes, give your best effort everyday, but what it all boils down to is that you owe any company nothing more and if a better deal appears, don't not consider it and if given the chance, take it. You could be here today, gone tomorrow. And not just at O. the day of 30 years and a gold watch are gone. Shame it is, but that is the reality.
Yup, listen people, Oracle will hire while letting go in different departments. It’s their way of deflecting the question: Are you laying off employees? Layoffs? We are hiring!!!!! This has been said many a time.
