That's the feeling I get from reading some of the posts here. Or is it not so? I, on the other hand, think that I will forget that I ever worked here as soon as I manage to land a better offer.

"Fidelity is private so that violates your criteria."
did you really think that was a clever gotcha?? some private companies hand out equity aka internal stock to employees.
But that's beside the point. The lesson plan here went completely over your head.
You should definitely stay at Dell until they ask you to leave
Fidelity is private so that violates your criteria.
top tier: these are the biggest money makers, their stocks are highly desirable
second tier: good companies to work for, it won't hurt to have their stock
third tier: still relevant companies which possibly have some future, proceed with caution especially as far stock is concerned
fourth tier: the rest
top tier: M$FT, Google, Apple, NVIDIA, Salesforce
second tier: Meta, Target, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Oracle, CapitalOne, Fidelity, Broadcom, VmWare
third tier: IBM, Bank Of America, Redhat, HP
fourth tier: Dell, HPE, Yahoo
what are the tier's? Explain please

I agree dell tends to blow their ho-n alot about how great it is a place to work.
It is not.
Dell is a tier 4 company at best and one relegated to the past.
better pay and stock purchase plan and better benefits exists out there.
Dell does a great job of leading you to believe there's no better place to work. Simply not true. Tons of great companies in the tech sector offer great opportunities. Don't be so focused on working for a fortune 50 either. The small companies are some of the best to work at.
The only reason I come here every so often is to help deliver the message that there is a great work life after Dell. You just have to get out there and pursue it. This isn't a shot at Dell either. I value the time and experience I had there over a pretty long stretch.
@1qfe+1nALHjDO I’ve left and returned multiple times. I’ve worked for a lot of companies from big to small. They all have their pros and cons and quirks. Dell is just another big company. You aren’t a victim.
Look at @1jnt+1nALHjDO crawling out of the primordial soup
Once you leave, you'll realize how truly traumatic Dell became. Look no further than the cyberbullying on here with people calling out ex-Dell over and over. Do you think that's normal or a sign that Dell = trauma?
Quit being so dramatic. It’s just a job.
