Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Only join USAA if you are desperate for ANY job

If that's not the case keep walking and don't look back. I joined about a year ago and most of the things that drew me here during the interview process have either changed or were greatly exaggerated in the first place. Don't fall for the same trick! Trust me, you'll be happier anywhere else.

Oh I am looking every day and evening, but for AML jobs good luck finding a decent one in San Antonio. Be prepared to relocate

Exactly, and in the meantime our authentication/verification is so bad that people can create member profiles with limited info and open new products. Happening every day and we’re hemorrhaging money. Our fraud area been messed up for years and probably why the last couple of execs over it left.

“ Bruh, im in detections and its boring af. I hVe only referred two alerts and am closing PERSONAL activity 99% of the time. Hello! Theres 60+ analysts doing thr same thing! This is not normal and its only a matter of time. I think we only jave jobs because the rules are soooooo trweaked so that anyone paying their credit card or withdaring 2000 in cash should be alerted l!!! I inow the risk tolerance is low, but seriously, this is not sustainable!!!”

I’m in KYC and every day I feel like I’m rotting away. None of their policies make sense, we are reviewing people who are doing normal a-s stuff with their accounts and QA/QC edits are for the most ridiculous things. I wish I had never taken this job. My other bank jobs were nothing like this sh-t show.

I just left the Bank Risk team - 5% less pay and 90% less stress. The happiest I have been in years - and I have started learning and growing again.
Wish i had left 2 years ago - the slide into mediocrity will continue: I wish everyone here the very best!

What department are you in? I joined AML during the pandemic and have lost braincells working here. Some of the AML seniors here are drooling id--ts. I regret leaving my old company every single day, but like you I was lured in with false promises.
