Thread regarding Refinitiv layoffs

Rampant nepotism

Perhaps I don't have as much experience as some others do, but until now I have never worked in a company where nepotism is as prevalent as here. Frustrating isn't it?

In tech it’s rampant… and these managers have the audacity to say they value the existing employees.

A lot are ex-deutsche. A failed bank saved by the German government/public otherwise it would have gone bust.

Yes, or friends looking after friends. Jobs being created for them I mean so they can be upgraded. Should you have the audacity to try to apply for these posts your going to be very disappointed to find out the job is advertised solely for someone already pencilled in for it and in some cases candidates are actually being told this prior to/during the hiring process - yes hiring managers are actually telling candidates don’t bother it’s just a restructuring process! It is widespread globally and the common theme is if you don’t like it tough because the company takes the perspective that nothing can be done about it anyway.
