AT&T suffers from VP syndrome of overlapping and often confused and counterproductive actions, Most do not have core technical skills of the future and rely too heavily on consultants. The VP functions in HR, Finance, Legal and Marketing could be cut in half without any significant disruption.

Consultants don’t have to relo to tejas- go work there and sell your skills back to T and the incompetent VP’s at triple the cost.
For every dollar spent for a fully loaded salary and benefits the company spends two dollars in consulting fees to spoon feed information to that VP in order for them to function!!
