Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Is this true?

There’s a never ending hiring freeze going on, so you’ll just absorbing other people’s work for the same pay if you are in a hub.

Is this why we've been trying to get two positions backfilled for over six months and have hit a wall with management every single time?

There is an official hiring freeze that’s been in effect for a year now and there appears to be no end to it for quite a while, especially with layoffs continuing. Whatever job you have now is the job you’ll have in the future, unless you get surplused.

“not all management is salary, I am not. I am hourly. The salary position of mine is a 2nd level with more pay.“

Soooooo, you are just above a tech in the food chain. But with less protection.

Management employees are salaried and will be expected to handle increased workloads with no additional expense.

There's no 'official hiring freeze for management and they've said they don't intend to implement one. Likely the candidates they are approving will be for the new locations though.

If they get away with it they'll keep doing it. The only answer is to let things slip and do it in a way that you are not personally blamed.
