Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Hired Remote, Exception Denied

For those hired remote after March 2021, it’s been confirmed the promise made at hire is not a valid exception regardless of what paperwork you have. If you live within 60 miles of an office, your status will be changed from remote to hybrid. It doesn’t matter if your entire team remains remote aside from you - that is also not a valid exception. It also doesn’t matter if your manager agrees that the company should honor their promise to you at hire and submits the exception for you - the decision is out of their hands and being made at a higher level. That’s the unfortunate reality of it.

Oh look, the "boostrapper" has turned into an insufferable troll. Thinks that anyone that questions or dislikes a workplace policy is a "Bolshevik" or some sort of handout beggar, free ride loving co---e. That "thinking" is as fresh as last week's ur--e soaked cat litter. What's next, telling our members and employees they should count their blessings that they are getting poor service due to short staffing, vs. no service at all? But do troll on, you're at least useful for making sure the downvote arrow is functional.

Lmao the snarling, vicious reactions to someone who suggests that you have choices

Bootstrap has become this catch all term used by little Bolsheviks that have no accountability for their own lives

Company needs change

How is changing your employment location any different than moving you to a new dept or just eliminating your role?

Furthermore how stupid were you if you thought this remote stuff was going to last forever?

Was that a quote from Tamla, the HR executive who puts people first? I have never seen such a cruel, smug, nasty comment before!

That was a nice load of corporate bullsh-t. At will employment? Sure, but just think how it will look locally (and probably nationwide) when employees grow some ba--s to take those executive pricks to task.

Thanks for your input, Tamla.

I was told a lot of lies during my recruitment. The company knows about how the recruiters gave a lot of BS during the recruiting process. Many of the recruiters were contractors and they gave all kinds of false promises. I was told the Charlotte site would have onsite daycare and parking. I can go on and on about more bullsh-t.

Yikes imagine if people still had this m0r0ns train of thought? 12 year olds might still be working 14 hours in coal mines.

People left good jobs during the pandemic worker bo-m with the promise of PERMANENT remote work and maybe slightly higher pay based on USAA "prestige". The company has really made itself look stupid as it has now catfished thousands of workers. What self respecting person would ever come work for a joke of a company like this after what they just pulled??

Did they send an email today? I’ve been hearing that they would, but not much else.

We need to post here when legal remedies start to happen. Their is power in numbers, especially when a pattern of employer abuse is evident.
