Manager asked us if we have a meeting on our calendar Wed or Thur, is this a layoff? I’ve heard layoffs are usually done on Thur in these threads

I was a contractor for digital M&R group retiree and was let go Friday afternoon Pacific Time for no reason whatsoever. Needless to say I won't work with this company ever again. Good thing is I have plenty of options though so no worries as feeling is mutual.

I got laid off on a Thursday. Last Thursday to be exact. My boss randomly moved our weekly meeting to Thursday and I just had a feeling it was coming.
It’s usually the Thursday before the end of the pay period. So the Thursday a full week before payday. It’s not usually on Wednesday. I was in management for 10+ years.
Bottom line, no one is safe at UHC right now. Or really any big company. Keep your resume updated and be sure the network so you have connections.
If it is a layoff, file for unemployment immediately.
