Thread regarding Nationwide (Insurance and Financial Services) layoffs

Looks like Nationwide is restructuring massively in PL and CL starting this month

Monoline auto policies being non-renewed. Agents need to contact NW prior to quoting NB, re-underwriting the entire book in many states, Small CL shuffle too including non -renewals in some states. I'm not waiting for termination. I'm starting to look around but it's a bad time in the insurance business to be looking for work.

Yes, it’s a mutual. The purpose, as I see it, is to refine the book of business and remove risk. There’s nothing wrong with that but it is happening fast. This website is about layoffs. When business is at a very low ebb that’s usually when they happen.

Is this just a pause. To non renew monoline and re underwrite current policies. What would be the purpose of this? It is a mutual company yes?

The weird part is that my dept overhired about a year ago. I can’t square that with the dramatic drop off in claims.

I have been watching this website waiting for someone to call it like I see it. It’s ugly and it’s weird and I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. I keep wondering how hard it’s going to fall. How many people this time? ME? I struggle to find work for about 1/3 - 1/2 of my day. Not too long ago I struggled to take breaks. What the H is going on ?????
