Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Nepotism is rampant here

The amount of nepotism here is disgusting with people in senior roles hiring their kids as directors out of school knowing nothing. I'm submitting my resignation this week for much better, I'm done making Abby's pockets fatter as the rest of us are treated like worker bees, teased with a bunch of "what ifs" with no promotions and forced back into the office.

what about Indian nepotism where Indian managers only hire Indian born applicants. It's tough to be a US born white male college grad trying to find a job in technology. You don't stand a chance.

Well that's technically not nepotism if they aren't related. It's Cronyism.

Hey @hhfu+1n4GnCwp The "unit tests" that I saw were all joke "code" = hardcoded brittle senseless "tests" (karate?) that proved nothing but hey if those "tests" passed that meant my code was awesome. I got out at the perfect time.

Meanwhile, these same leaders are lecturing about the need for diversity.

The hypocrisy is astounding with these leaders, especially when it comes to internships. You mean to tell me these privileged children can't find internships or jobs somewhere other than Fidelity? They should all be embarrassed.

As someone who worked in HR, I can tell you these hires can be problematic. The appearance of impropriety should be enough to do away with this practice for senior roles. I told my kids I was confident they could be successful without working at Fidelity and so far so good.

Such bitterness on here. Is it a generational thing or are just bitter people who have little success posting on here?

This is a good thing, actually. Do you have kids? Why aren't you trying to secure a cushy high paid do-nothing job for them?

Well this is pretty much to be expected...just look at Abby.

Ha, I was thinking of posting the same thing. Even the interns are always people’s kids.
