Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Larry, Moe, and Curly

The lack of awareness and mismanagement is shocking but not with this leadership team. Desperate people do desperate things and they are ill equipped mentally to run the company. The only thing I can surmise is that they want to gut the expense side of the house as much as possible in preparation for a sale to an Apple, Google, or Microsoft type tech company. They probably got advice from a Wall Street player that is what they need to do and of course that is what they are doing because it will line their pockets as much as possible. This RTO debacle is like having a 6 person household and your family car is a Corvette because Mom and Dad thought it was so bright and shiny and they forgot about the kids.

RTO or resign. Your choice.

Apple, Google, or Microsoft, none of them are HQ in Texas. So assuming T is bought, suddenly Dallas does not sound like the safe haven of the future we’ve been hearing past couple week, does it?

Spot on. This was rumored a year ago too. What will keep this from happening tomorrow is those companies don’t want our debt or unions. Get rid of the expense (people and legacy products/systems), grow the fiber reach, and build up the digitalization of ordering, billing, experience for Fiber products. They will take the only profitable things we have that finish off their complete ownership of the customer (the transport). This is inevitable. Then JS will think he is getting on their board but nobody would be d-mb enough to offer him a seat at the table.

Nice. The Corvette is definitely a great car.

Part out the profitable parts from wireless, fiber, and data then sell them to companies that can manage them effectively. After selling off the parts, leave the majority of the debt with the dyeing ATT corpse, then the shell of a corpse files bankruptcy.

Given the current conditions, I don't see this as an unlikely option.
