Tired of after-work calls

It's so disrespectful and it's starting to deplete my morale. I can't wait to find another job so I don't get any more after-work calls. It seems that such calls are not rare here at all?

Does the job description of your job explicitly say that you have to answer calls after the work hours? If not, then don't answer the calls.

If you work for an organization that does emergency restorations, I get it. If not, don't answer your phone off hours.

9 replies and nobody that realized we are a utility that has network outages 24 hours a day? I’m union but have always had night calls as a fiber tech or power tech. My bosses too. Emergencies happen constantly. Maybe your in sales if so then he-l no.

Unless you are getting paid overtime to answer calls after hours, I would never do it.

You have full control of your phone. Why you even bother answering the calls that you don't want? Like those spam calls, I silence my phone and let it buzzes many times before rolling it over to the voicemail, wasting their time waiting to hear from a person before they hear the useless voicemail greeting!
