I'd like to tell Stankey to stick his relocation where the sun don't shine and leave but I'm not feeling motivated to look for another job. Just the idea of having to find something that pays as much and has at least as good benefits (to be honest, that part at least shouldn't be as hard) is making me close job sites as fast as I open them. I just can't get myself to do it.

The RTO drama was what motivated me
Not ridiculous, I’ve been doing it the last 4 years and have had to do it several other times to stay on with this company. It’s not great, but it’s possible. Of course being able to work OT helps with the extra costs.
“ Or if you do the move, get something like a small furnished place or an extended stay AirBnb and commute back and forth until you find a better job back home. Flying is surprising cheap if you do it right.“
Exactly how much money do you think the average impacted person makes? We’re not talking C Suite salaries here. Let’s be realistic. Most people aren’t going to be able
to afford that, and even if they could they would be barely scraping by and sacrificing their family life. Ridiculous.

Exactly.
Not to be obnoxious but I hope your motivated to move then.
I suspect a lot of people are saying not to move, to get more out the door thinking it will secure a place for them.
I’m just a cynic though. Do what makes sense for you.

My advice, don't make the move because this company's future is in limbo and there are no guarantees even if you uproot and make the move! Everyone that visits this site knows it's all about forcing a majority of employees to not make the move and quit on their own. How to shed 15,000 employees in 3 easy steps by John Stankey!
It's normal. Since you still have a job, it's hard to even look at what's available out there, but once you leave, you can take a few days to relax, and then start looking and applying, a couple of hours per day to apply, then go through interviews when you get them. It will be much easier, and might even be a lot of fun.
All to uproot your life, sell your house, pay double the rent or mortgage in a crazy market all to be fired or laid off by EOY. No thanks. There’s less toxic companies out there. Be proactive.
