Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Everybody should be quiet quitting

I know a few people who have been quiet quitting for years. None of them have been laid off. At the same time, many who have been burning the candle at both ends for years are now gone. It makes you wonder why the rest of us are even trying to stand out, doesn't it?

Let’s be honest….workers at oracle will never be to blame. The management is among the worst in all of the world. The higher you get, the worse it is. The ones running the big units, subhuman filth. None of what happened or happening is due to quiet quitting or workers or lazy people. Management is to blame for everything. If you side with them, you side with evil.

“I have many friends who got RIFd by Oracle after many years of hard work there. Yet here we have a group of lazy b-ms sitting at their jobs, doing their little quiet quitting thing, and taking their salaries and benefits while doing next to no work.”

You don’t understand what quiet quitting means.

Keep quiet quitting. Indians will be happy to take your jobs, count on it. That’s the trend at Oracle, or haven’t you quiet quitters noticed that yet?

I have many friends who got RIFd by Oracle after many years of hard work there. Yet here we have a group of lazy b-ms sitting at their jobs, doing their little quiet quitting thing, and taking their salaries and benefits while doing next to no work. What a pile of sad sacks you quiet quitting b-ms are. You’re a disgrace. I hope Oracle roots you out.

You want to be a quiet quitter? Fine. Then stop drinking from the te-t that feeds you. Quit your job instead of ripping off the company. In other words, show some personal integrity.

It is hard to guess or understand. There were companies that layed off too many in the travel industry - not realizing how quickly things wouid come back. Then, there was a huge staffing problem.

I’m not saying or guessing that this is what Oracle is doing. Just saying there could many reasons why they are allowing people to continue to be employed that really aren’t working..
and maybe they are just trying figure things out. This is a strange time in our lives.

Things are changing faster than ever for everyone including them. There is much uncertainty. I know it’s tough. It tough for everybody. We all want to make the right decisions and we ready for certainty during uncertainty. We need to focus on what we need to do today and not think too much about tomorrow. Much easier than done.

Who knows what is ahead? Maybe just breathe, relax, keep yourself busy, exercise, take one day at time and trust that everything will be ok.

There are many job openings worst case scenario if you have to find another job, you will.

Quiet quitters and lazy employees are two different things.

Lazy employees are the ones who are content where they are and got too comfortable.

Quiet quitters are uncomfortable. They're the ones who realised that no matter how much extra effort they put in, the results are always the same. They still do their work, they just don't compromise their mental health, their home life or their income potential by feeling pressured to do extra work that doesn't get recognised or rewarded.

True. I worked my a-s off for years, and was thankfully promoted a bunch with the money that came with it.

Aug 2022 new Mgmt fired many of the good ones . And some deadwood.

I read this site occasionally for entertainment.

It’s the quiet quitters who should be dumped to the curb first.

If you want to blame anyone, then blame management. Blame management for not only not laying off the "bunch of lazy employees" and blame management for turning those good employees into lazy employees. People don't reach this level by being lazy.

Those of you who identify as quiet quitters are nothing more than a bunch of lazy employees sitting around on your fat chops. There have been many twrrific employees axed by Oracle who worked hard and appreciated having a job. It’s the quiet quitters who should be dumped to the curb first.

There’s a reason that Oracle has a prominent spot in the Silicon Valley tv series opening animation.

I've "quiet quit" since the August 22 layoffs and have had nothing to do since while looking for a real job.

Almost your year anniversary; how is that search going?

There is another term “quiet firing” that is in play here too. After August 22 layoffs we received no communication from the new leadership for about 8 months. Very little since then either, and it’s still not clear why some of us are still here. They gave up on us long ago but they’re waiting for us to quit so they don’t have to pay severance.

The “unassigned” scene from Silicon Valley sums it up best.

The OP is not wrong. Doing good work at Oracle gets you more work or jealousy and crab mentality.
