So instead of increasing the pay band per tech level, or getting rid of the 100% of the middle of a pay band. The brainiacs decide to make 60% of the current tech 2’s all tech 3’s. Lol saturation. So they made the old tech two happy and the old tech 3 unhappy not to mention most of the new tech 3 can’t do anything with out guidance from the NOC. What a joke!

They were driven into the ground long before Storey
In my area, Lumen is ki-ling off all TDM.
Unless it makes to the PUC. The ds1 circuits, remotes in general, cut copper cables gets very little attention.
If Fiber gets cut. It gets an ASAP attention.
All 5 senior IR and Cable technicians were offered to be Quantum fiber techs. They all jumped on it. The candidates off the street took over their open positions.
So far its working. Quantum techs are doing great job with intalls and splicing. We are shifting away from contract fiber splicers.
JS was nothing more than a Used Car Salesman that sold his ideas to the Board and then snuck out into the sunset with Millions! Unbelievable how loyal people were to this slug and the Company! For what? Just to have a mediocre job with stress and criticism 24/7?!
Welcome to the 4th Industrial Revolution my friends and waking up to what some have recognized long before today! Same thing is happening across many industries: Under the cloak of "pay equity", new job titles w/ very little pay increase and promise of "future" benefits seems to be satisfying most ...haaahaaaa, where have we heard this before?!?!?
“Network Tech”…… should just call it what it is, turning the local network builders (CO guys) into “jumper monkeys”
Jeff Storey purposely took us out of everything because he knew the knowledge we possessed. We scared him.
That’s OK, the contractors kept me up to date on everything they moved over to national before selling us. Therefore, I have been working constantly to move stuff back into our facilities & disconnect the lumen links.
Oh & BTW, we should celebrate the firing of Jeff Storey.
He didn’t retire, he drove a 100 year old company to bankruptcy
Sorry I don't follow what you're saying. Our wage scale starts at 1 being the highest paid. 2, 3, etc. If a 2 tech became a 3 tech, why would the 2 tech be happy? They went down a pay level. You must be talking about a (#2) job title. Like Network technician (2) if there is such a thing?
