"Downsizing incoming...
Heard through the grapevine that come July 2023 AT&T remote workers will be forced back into the office and by November 2023, any workers who are not in a hub city will be required (in order to maintain employment) to work in a hub city."
What kind of news flash is this supposed to be?
Consistently significant headcount erosion to the tune of double digit percentages every year should be a surprise to absolutely no one. The bottom number isn’t even close yet…
don't forget they outsourced the management of the pension now.
stank has destroyed every good reason to stay.
but I am sure he is giving incentives to the "leaders" to stay lol.
Dropping two companies will cut your work force in half.
Down by almost 1/2 the employee base in just 8 years!
We used to joke about the “One AT&T” mantra years ago and how it eventually meant one employee left 😂🤣
If the TREND holds, there will be 20k employes by 2033.

Market cities continue to be added to increase locations from original 9 states locations.
Official reason is: business need.
Most likely real reason:
execs using powers and tactics to accommodate “chosen few”
Company is built on friends and family and who is liked — not on true contribution to bottom line.
Rule of 75 no longer impacts Management employees.
They should put an employee count ticker on the bottom of the jumbotron screen in the Dallas Discovery district with real-time updates
Right along with a stock tracker.
I predict less than 120k by the end of this year. Probably going to lose most people that aren’t in HUB locations. Very few are going to relo with relo assistance, probably none without it and only the folks needing that extra couple years or less to hit rule of 75 will likely move.
There are many folks not located in a hub that will not be impacted by this RTO nonsense. Think of all the customer facing folks, and people that touch equipment. There are a ton. No way they will be relocated. All those folks you see in AT&T trucks, etc. they are staying put.

Everyone else is going to find another job. The non-pension FTEs are just going to find another job. No reason to stay for them.

Perhaps, but there is only one year in which they actually increased. The trend seems pretty clear and significant.
Regarding Stank’s promise to deliver $16B fcf in 2023 he said:
The company “probably be down 15,000 employees from last year to this year, when it’s all said and done” as part of an on-going cost-cutting program.
That would be startling if a lot of it wasn't accounted for by divestiture of things like Warner and DirecTV.

There is a lot more to simply posting those numbers. They went up / down because of acquisitions and the sale of the same.
