Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

There is life outside of Dell

I intend to leave in case I have to come to the office. Anyone else?
Literally the ability to work from home is the only thing that still keeps me here.
If I don't have that option anymore, there are quite enough solid options outside of this company.

I find going in doesn't make a difference. You show your face and end up on zoon all day anyhow. Other than physically being there, there is not real difference...just aggravation. I can't remember the last time I had a one on one with my manager. He leaves by 2pm everyday anyhow.

I have been going in 1-2 times per week needed to do my job during the WFH phase. I plan on going full passive aggressive and will just keep going in when necessary.

All the WFH people should of saved money from not having to buy gas for 3 years not to mention wear and tear on cars.

With only 10% of the company that worked in house with all the covid protocals its about time after 3 years that everyone should come back to work.

Good choice, leave then.

This is one of the reasons they are making this announcement. It's pretty obvious that the people who are only here because of WFH are also the ones doing very little work. Hiding behind Tok Tok and crying when they are asked to make a phone call.

The bulk of the company know this will be a short term thing whilst we replace people like you with people who want to be here.

Just quiet quit like the rest of us. Dell is dismal. Literally zero perks working for Dell now.
They view their employees as furniture.
I dont think its tax saving. It's just monkey see monkey do to trends.

At least they made the announcement before Tell Dell so we can voice our opinions. I really think it has less to do with attrition and more about the tax breaks they receive/committed to for local economies. And that’s their problem, not ours. We don’t make anything near proportional to ELT for our efforts

The money is pretty average but with the increased cost of living its getting worse and salary is worth less.
Working from home was one of the last decent perks left.
Either Jeff wants us to leave in large numbers to reduce headcount or this has to be the worst move by senior management ever and they really are out of touch with staff.
