One of the main problems with Seagate and many other companies is this twisted idea that overworking is the key to success. We are supposed to sacrifice our health, our relationships, and even our sanity just to prove our worth to some faceless corporation. But let's be real. Overworking is nothing but a recipe for burnout, dissatisfaction, and a life unfulfilled.

Seagate has no loyalty to its employees. When you are no longer financially viable, out you go.
Imagine putting in the extra effort over the last year- evening meetings, weekend work, going the extra mile to cover for teammates who left the company for better paying jobs, promise of a promotion and then be rewarded with no bonus, layoffs and ultimately a pay cut if you're still around.
It’s always fun to watch the lap dogs panic and scurry around trying to validate their existence. Not me bother it’s time grab some popcorn sit back and enjoy the sh&t show. Nothing you do now will effect the names on the list.
Agree, but easier said then done while trying to stay employed and raise a family. I worked for Seagate 21 years. Missed all sorts of family events and sacrificed a lot while traveling on business. Then they decided to move our jobs to South Korea and Singapore to save money and our whole team got laid off. Mosely got his bonuses like the rest of the VPs while some workers never really recovered, especially the older ones. My loyalty to corporate America is long gone. Family first now as it should of been all along.
So many times I was given impossible mandates from boss and bosses boss. Worked my a-s of to try and make the impossible possible. Then got dragged into meeting after meeting to update a cadre of do-nothing managers on progress on the impossible.
Began to recognize a pattern that the attendees of these meetings that that were at the highest level, VPs that didn’t seem necessary were people that had bonuses tied to completing these projects. This became especially obvious near quarters end when the numbers in attendance jumped. Then the discussion would be how success could declared before the quarters end.
