Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Survey

I typically pass on these opportunities to provide feedback but is there any way to leverage this as a tool?

Not sure if it is worth it to be honest, are you all just as jaded?

Discuss.

Best to ignore.

Put a negative comment like last round of survey, they will force middle management to hold meetings to squeeze out ideas on how to address these issues from the bottom....

Put a positive comment, ah...upper management will pat themselves in the back and nothing needs changing.

BTW-these surveys aren’t anonymous. They know exactly who says what.

Supervisors only get aggregate results for their particular group if enough of their direct reports complete the survey. If enough don’t, then the results roll up to the next level and they lose their impact as you get further from the source. If you want your voice to be heard (good or bad), then take the survey and encourage your colleagues to do it as well. They are genuinely trying to get the pulse of the organization even though the survey isn’t super clear on the questions.

Honesty (or your "courage of conviction," will get you pipped.

They never ask anything relevant.

These surveys are the next generation of phishing emails. If you answer honestly, you go right to the top of the PIP list.

Good news: the company is too lazy/scared of being sued to track down who says mean things in surveys

Bad news: they are going to ignore the results either way

Why spend money on untrustworthy surveys? Just have management come here to get the unvarnished truth.

Noted a few questions on managers, hopefully this is a signal that future job cuts will be more centered on the mid management layer. Very unlikely but it’s a thought

@1abc+1my4Y2gP definitely agree with your sentiments; hope you will understand when the rest of us intelligent ones don't join you in the unemployment line after you "answer with pure honesty!"

People have to be honest. Speak their truth! We all have been beat down by woke, cancel culture and how is that improving the health of our nation. Do not gaslight ever. Be true in all things you do and say. But please speak up! We have to be honest to be respected. Otherwise you will be in a dark world, beat down and lack respect for yourselves! This unfortunately goes beyond your employment. This is the future for coming generations! Yes answer with pure honesty and go look in the mirror and be proud!

I feel like I'm being bullied into culture change metric magic and I don't believe. Did I get 5 requests to fill it out in the last few days? I think silence sends the message best? I do have a lot to say... but there is no upside for me.

Never trust xom. Only way I’d be honest is if I was on the way out. Otherwise just don’t participate in the games. Ignore the request rather than tell them what they want to hear.

I want to respond and say what's on my mind but I'm nervous as many have noted that it's not totally anonymous. I think at the same time people need to speak up.
