Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Dignity and respect

“These are difficult decisions, and we are committed to treating impacted employees with dignity and respect,” Intel said.

Yeah, I call BS on that one.

In the 2016 bloodbath, they had choreographed dialogues between the manager and an HR Rep as a Kleenex box sat on an otherwise empty table between them. This provided an antiseptic environment where lawsuit minimization was the priority.

Clearly business hasn’t improved. Hopefully at least the layoff process has.

I was laid off in March. After 10+ years, they provided a fair package and I was treated with dignity and respect. My only sour taste was with my direct manager, we never got along which is probably why I was axed. Either way, I am happy how they treated me and I am thankful for all they provided. Not sure what the fuss is about not treating with dignity and respect, I am living voice that they delivered on their promise.

Dignity and respect... right. They lock down what you can do on your laptop because they think you're going to steal or vandalize. It's like the retail store security following brown-skinned shoppers around the store.

Is "Quiet Quitting" a sign of "Dignity and Respect"? What about being a Wooke Activist on company time?

Intel doesn't know how to treat people employed at Intel with dignity and respect. About 20 years back, I know of an engineer who was publicly humiliated so many times, he committed su----e.
How (and why) will they treat laid off employees with dignity and respect?!

I was treated with both dignity and respect up until I got screwed out of the severance package because I found a new job too quickly and wouldn't stay around and train the new people in India.

I got CPM'ed at Christmas and was treated well by the company. You can vote this down all you like, but it's true.

I can't see what else the company could've done, apart from not laying me off of course!
