Thread regarding USAA layoffs

As expected, RTO makes the execs "feel good"

The edao town hall today pretty much said it all, Ramnik is way out of touch with the general workface. He likes the "energy" of everyone in the building, employees' feelings, feedback and thoughts be damned. It's not data driven at all, it's about how the execs feel, they can now pat their pointy little heads and rub their bellies in universal joy! The lack of questions in the q&a is pretty telling, the non-exec workforce has truly given up. Assimilation will be complete by September and the last nail will be pounded in January 2024. A mostly empty, depressing hollow hour.

As clearly pointed out in the town hall, he is a Covid hire and has never seen the office at capacity or anywhere near it. He's personally never " seen the energy " so how can he like it, or even understand it ?

employees are fearful of retaliation, which does exist at USAA, no matter how many LMS courses you take that state “we have zero tolerance for retaliation.”

WFH is making middle managers nonessential. RTO gives them visibility and perceived purpose.
