Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

I would rather agree to a smaller paycheck than RTO

I think I'm not the only one?

What an absolute dump. Let them have cake... whilst the ELT earn their tens of millions per annum

This is a benefit reduction as Dell “innovates”.
3 days in office 2-3 hours daily commute time and energy spent , fuel cost. The increase in carbon emissions vehicles burning fossil fuels sitting in bumper to bumper traffic. What are the leaders attempting to undo with this policy shift?

You are being ripped off already. Dell pays peanuts and is a joke. Never accept or offer anything which benefits Dell and not you. Think solely about yourself... just like those ELT id--ts

The only thing smaller is the amount of work you will be putting in due to commute times. Make no mistake, your already getting greased on pay.

To the person who feels like you were bamboozled, I too was bamboozled. Hired remote - specifically told them that I was accepting remote only- and then this. What a slap in the face.

Honestly, this company sucks a$$. Was told by my boss this was happening just before it came out (management was told it was coming out at 10amC).

We’ve had the big WFR in Feb, massive and pointless reorgs, and now this RTO. Clearly, this is a “please exit Dell” signal.

Not really sure who wants to be at Dell anymore but for the paycheck. This place really blows.

And let’s not forget that JC made $17M last year, Allison pulled in nearly $14M, and Chuck got $45M to come drive this ship into the ground.

Unfortunately for the OP, being fully engaged means to be laughing and smiling in the office and clapping at the CEO during a town hall.

I accepted my position as “remote” when I was hired. I specifically asked in the interview if there would be a RTO, and I was told by HR that this was “highly, almost certainly, unlikely.” In the Hybrid policy I read today, it doesn’t matter if your were hired remotely. If you’re within 1 hour…looks like we better get in there 3x a week. I feel like I was bamboozled.

Under market compensation, RTO, and uncleaned work environments leads to PTSD.

I too will take a smaller paycheck just with bigger numbers on it.

You already have an under market paycheck. ZING!
Dell has already liquidated all employee amenities, office space and capital.

You are getting drilled without a courtsy reach around

Absolutely agree. RTO is expensive and negatively affects every part of an employee’s life for literally no reason.

With targets the way they are I cant afford to work at Dell as it is but I understand.
With the price of gas and groceries this situation has just got worse.
Think its time to look elsewhere.
