Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Lack of transparency

If they cared about their employees at all, I guess they would be at least be a little more transparent about layoffs.
Why so little transparency? Do they think that it will save their reputation from further deterioration?

Multiple reasons. To try to minimize bad press and keep their A-team employees from leaving for AMD/Apple/NVDA.

Yeah, never trust. Misuse of information will happen at their advantage

That's funny. You actually think they remotely care about their employees? Every man/woman for themselves at Intel. Don't trust anyone, including your managers.

“These are difficult decisions, and we are committed to treating impacted employees with dignity and respect,” Intel said.

At Intel we have always aimed to sustain the "noria effect" within our employee roles.
If we start announcing mass layoffs we will find it hard to draw in the low wage replacements.

They don’t want people to be scared and stop working

They seem to think it will slow down a bulk attrition or an exit en-masse as employees immediately start to apply for other jobs.

It does not seem to be helping greatly though, HR are processing resignations by the 100's in F24 at the moment.
