Fall Rush 23

Please post the issues we’re all going to run into in Fall so I can prepare myself now. Thank you and may the Lord have mercy on our soul.

And let's not forget all our house accounts- that have to be properly rung up such as VA, Home school, Duel Enrollment, All Rehab accounts, and let's not forget about the Atheletes. And these students have no qualm about going over to the office and complaining about you because you don't know something or keep them waiting . Fall Rush is HE-L even for the most experience employee and I have seen Temps walk out on the first day because it's to much for them to handle. Good luck to all and may the force be with you.

  • No one ordering custom kits because they don't know how.
  • No one ordering art supplies because they don't know how.
  • No one stocking the sales floor because the current Campus Manager believes she is above menial tasks so all the product will continue to sit in the back of the store. (No labor $ for team members so sh-t will continue to pile up in the back).
  • AR accounts being set up incorrectly. Campus Manager set up accounts in the spring and didn't put in restrictions so now we are having issues collecting payment because students charged whatever the fu-k they wanted and vendors want us to correct the invoices. We can't do that if the student doesn't come in and pay for the product they charged.
  • SHRINK SHRINK SHRINK. We notice theft on a daily basis but because oftentimes one person is working, sh-t just walks out the door. Textbooks, convenience, supplies, clothing.
  • SODA order fulfillment. Store orders for other stores will get zero picked because nobody knows where this sh-t is because the old CMM stopped organizing our surplus area because we didn't have the labor to maintain it.

The worst part will be that your hands will be tied at every turn and when you reach out for answers no one will replay. Then after rush they'll ask for an explanation why the sales were down. The best advice I can give you is to be honest to your customer. Don't give anyone any expectations because they'll be pi---d when you can't deliver. Outsource your customer service have brytewaves number available - have the efollett number available - have the graduation company number ready to go. Good luck.

Understaffed(in my store two full time mgrs are gone)
Untrained,inexperienced temps most likely
Upset freshmen parents when they don’t get the answers they want because no one answers the phone or knows how to answer a question
Books out if stock. No one in store doing the ordering so unfamiliar with what professors ordered or what students actually need
Prepaid orders— who is ordering those every day?
No place for online orders or space on sales floor near texts because so many boxes of clothing everywhere
I’m sure there are many more problems.
Have fun!
