There's really only 3 ways to deal with the forced RTO. We can either comply, find another job, or dont comply (ignore it) and see what they do. Sure there will be some enforcement, and probably some performance threats/impacts, however by complying we're simply setting the stage and giving in to allow for the forced RTO to happen, eventually everyone will get used to it, stop complaining and it will become permanent. If everyone takes a stand, and continues to not meet the 3/4 day in office mandate, they'll realize they can't force everyone into the office. I mean what are they going to do? They need employees, they can't fire everyone. Chances are, if they start laying off or firing people, good luck to our leadership getting the work done when most current employees are already doing the work of 2-3!

They are not going to make exceptions, if they had their wishes we would all be in the office 5 days a week, however they can’t afford to lose all of the remote workers so they will compromise with 2-3 days in office. I personally completed a JAR application for a long term illness that I have. I was told that I did not meet the threshold. I don’t know what that threshold is. They offered a medical exam by their approved doctors if I choose to appeal the decision. I’m torn about what to do, I think my days at USAA are numbered. There are good remote jobs out there for better companies that treat their employees better
forced RTO was to get people to quit. What if, and hear me out, we all decided to give them what they are asking for... just show up. They want bodies in seats well they get warm-ish bodies but no drive, no effort. Just people that show up .... imagine that. Expensive buildings, spend money on equipment, but productivity low... they want everyone in the office.. I say be careful what you wish for- you may get it
Agree.
Do the math. Say you make $100k / year. I’d you end up being a low meets and have a 90% individual differentiation (from 100%) and you’re at a full 15% target (or 20%) we’re talking about a difference of 1200 pre-tax - $46/check (pre-tax).
Child care?
Gas?
Car maintenance?
Connection to family?
Cost of eating sudexo?
I’ll take the 90%, go ahead PIP me - let’s see how that works. Connect that back to a goal. Tbh, I just don’t care.
I mean, not worried about bonus. You can literally just loose your job over this.
Yeah but i think the problem could be that it could and im saying this loosely, that you could be put on a pip, and then you pretty much have to quit, but thats doubtful depending on whonis your manager…
Even if i take a performance hit, say 10% bonus reduction, thats still less than the expense of travel to the office! Wayne and Amala are no Elon Musk! Are they going to step up and do my job? Good luck hiring people around here that want to come to the office while there’s other companies offering remote work. It won’t be me on the news when the company continues to be run to the ground.
