As a silent protest and a gesture of “F you” to Wayne, since Tuesday seems to be the day most everyone goes into office, we should wear black that day along on the days of the employee meeting. Whether it’s a black shirt, black pants, black headband, black arm band, etc …

Someone else proposed wearing black to employee meetings. I proposed making it every Tuesday. I removed those posts from a the other forum in search of an even higher level of anonymity after also proposing #’lilWayne as a nickname. So no, I’m not a EMG troll. For those who don’t think wearing black will make a difference, I propose that you think of this from a different angle.
The WSJ ran an article about our 3 day RTO before the employee communication went ou. That leak had to have come from HR. Then we had layoffs, now this and then the mess with losing money for the first time in a century. It’s open knowledge that serval EVPs are not on board with RTO as it has been rolled out and you have reporters sniffing around for dirt in other forums and talk of unions is starting. Wayne and Amla are in an exceedingly weak position as long as we don’t roll over. Wear your black shirt on Tuesdays with pride and with the knowledge that your manager and execs probably secretly support you. If any member of management asks about your black shirt on Tuesday, play d-mb.
Long live #Blackout_Tuesday!
Not EMG posting. Just a troll!
Have to agree. Wearing a color in solidarity does nothing. You want to make change? Start the Union process. That’s the only way the Board will know you’re serious.
Lol one EMG is in this thread replying over and over
I'm in agreeable that the wearing black thing is a bad idea. It will get found out what's happening and we all know retaliation is real (even though they say it ain't). This is a good way to have a target on your back. It will accomplish zero.
That sounds stupid and will accomplish zero. The only way the company will give 2 craps is if people quit their jobs en masse but it will never happen people are in debt so far up their own but they are spitting past due notices.
I’m down
I'd strongly push for black shirts specifically. This will create uniformity and consistency among those participating. Obviously someone who doesn't know could just happen to wear a black shirt that day, but if you have one person wearing a black shirt and another person wearing black pants, it's hard to say with any level of certainty that they are silently protesting.
But this is absolutely something we should do, doubly so during big meetings like Employee Meetings, town halls, or anything else that gets recorded and put on UTV.
Make. This. Happen. I know I will be doing it.
Put it out in the open where no one can ignore it. Make your voice heard and your sentiment seen. Imagine a sea of black in the Employee Meeting: each black shirt representing a person whose life has been upended by RTO, or someone standing in solidarity with those who have been negatively impacted by it.
EMG can't ignore it, nor can they stop it. If they encourage people to "wear your navy polo for the employee meeting!" all the better. Wear black in defiance. It's a silent protest that they simply cannot stop.
It may not do much to change things at first, but it's a way to communicate dissatisfaction in a productive way. We can use Pulse and other mechanisms, but EMG have the privilege of keeping those statements confidential. They can't hide this.
It's not just complaining for the sake of complaining, and it shouldn't be limited to just those who dislike RTO. Even if you like working in the office, wear black for those whose mental health is being impacted negatively due to this change.
Wear black for the disabled veteran who is suffering through multiple panic attacks per day because of their PTSD and agoraphobia.
Wear black for those whose finances are going to be strained due to added commute costs.
Wear black for those missing out on time with their children because their CEO wants them to sit on Zoom calls in an office instead of at home.
Wear black for those who've been building their dream home outside of a commutable distance on the promise of remote work and now have to choose between remaining a USAA employee and moving into their new home.
Call attention to the fact that USAA lied and broke their promises to people who were hired remote.
It's a dark time at USAA when the CEO, HR, and senior leadership broke their own core values of Honesty and Integrity by reneging on their promises. Let your clothing reflect that, especially in meetings that get recorded and put on UTV.
Spread the word on channels like #memes-n-things. Enough people visit that channel and dislike RTO enough that we could probably get a meaningful number of people on board.
