Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Appraisals and pay reviews

Before you know it it’ll be June. If the appraisals for most people were done in Feb-March, why does it take ~3 months for these number crunchers at DXC to ratify and release to employees?

Given the fact that as a people manager I put my ratings in literally after each appraisal I conducted….

I’m being asked by my staff and I don’t know the answer what is causing the delay. Does anyone else here have a senior managers ear who knows?

Daft question, but what’s the latest about pay? Given the fact that we have no UK GM, I suspect that’ll need to be sorted first. Has liar Halbard got any town halls in the calendar or is he still working on his next set of lies?

Why waste time in performing annual reviews?

The delay is nothing more than an accounting game. If your pay hikes are delayed by a quarter, the increase in costs are pushed out by a quarter. And that's for those who get the hikes. Also, understand that the pay hike "notification" will come in early July/August, but will be effective another quarter later. For 2023, most people had their hikes effective Oct 2022; with managers and above being effective Jan 2023. Same thing repeats for 2023-24.

This anxiety was really frustrating, and I was fortunate enough to get out with a 40% hike. I really rue the many years that I spent with this company.

I left 8 months ago after the last so called promise of a pay rise and then delay, delay, delay in getting them. It seems all to quickly people forgot about the mis information we were told a year ago about pay rises, opportunity and still people think they will get them.

Polish your cv up, leave

We all know how this story ends. Unfortunately the only way is to polish that cv and get going.

We don't need Tenali or Mary, a young handsome school leaver could do a better job for HR and Marketing for a lot less $.

Job Description
Required someone who can write 4 emails a year and send them out using MS Outlook. Must remain quite on appraisals just collect the paperwork for storage and tick boxing, delay all employee pay raises, in fact never talk of them as our previous HR director falsely told the employes she was going to Implement annual merit raises.

The Marketing role is new and therefore has big challenges, trips to Manchester United and F1 circuits for free, all expenses paid.

Otherwise you will be required to remain silent on all Marketing activities.

Compensation
$5 million per year, mostly paid in shares to avoid taxes, plus 51.5 weeks paid annual leave, pension and more.

Oh come on, if you have a 1/2 if brain you know you’re not getting pay increases ! Some great people haven’t seen increases in 8+ years, I got one in 2021 but it wasn’t even 3% after 7 some years.

You want more money, change employers or what I did. I quit!

Certainly no pay rises for few years - all that spare $millions are now be paid to Ferrari F1 team - see DXC logos and your pay rises $$ on the cars and drivers helmets and suits, along with giving Ferrari F1 drivers your bonuses for their low pay

Expect Mikey no 2 to be splashing more of DXC cash on vainty projects and hooks up

Halbard is no longer in that role (not announced internally) and there is no sign of a replacement so no Town Halls in the diary. Don't hold your breathe.
The appraisals are (allegedly) delayed due to the organisational changes in progress (deckchair shuffling) but if you expect a payrise then I refer you to the tale in this post.

King Krishnadevaraya loved horses and had the best collection of horse breeds in the Kingdom. Well, one day, a trader came to the King and told him that he had brought with him a horse of the best breed in Arabia.

He invited the King to inspect the horse. King Krishnadevaraya loved the horse; so the trader said that the King could buy this one and that he had two more like this one, back in Arabia that he would go back to get. The King loved the horse so much that he had to have the other two as well. He paid the trader 5000 gold coins in advance. The trader promised that he would return within two days with the other horses.

Two days turned into two weeks, and still, there was no sign of the trader and the two horses. One evening, to ease his mind, the King went on a stroll in his garden. There he spotted Tenali Raman writing down something on a piece of paper. Curious, the King asked Tenali what he was jotting down.

Tenali Raman was hesitant, but after further questioning, he showed the King the paper. On the paper was a list of names, the King’s being at the top of the list. Tenali said these were the names of the biggest fools in the Vijayanagara Kingdom!

As expected, the King was furious that his name was at the top and asked Tenali Raman for an explanation. Tenali referred to the horse story, saying the King was a fool to believe that the trader, a stranger, would return after receiving 5000 gold coins.

Countering his argument, the King then asked, what happens if/when the trader does come back? In true Tenali humour, he replied saying, in that case, the trader would be a bigger fool, and his name would replace the King’s on the list!

MORAL OF THE STORY: The next DXC'er who believes they will get a pay raise will replace the king at the TOP OF THE LIST!!

I know a few guys who spoke with the old UK leads 1 to 1 (Beckett and Turpie) and both alluded to being unhappy with the direction the company was being taken by UK leadership
